Trial on February 8
Pekny: Abusive images of small children too
Next week, a once dazzling figure from the cultural scene will once again have to stand trial for accessing child and youth pornography. The Austrian Thomas Pekny, former director of the Komödie am Bayerischen Hof in Munich, faces up to three years in prison if convicted at the Munich Regional Court.
Exactly one year to the day after the original trial date of former castle actor Florian Teichtmeister, an Austrian with roots in the theater scene must answer to a criminal judge for accessing child and youth pornographic content. On February 8, Thomas Pekny, former director of the Komödie am Bayerischen Hof, will go on trial in Munich. The 71-year-old, who also worked as a stage designer at the regional theaters in Linz and Salzburg, is presumed innocent.

Investigators found abuse files stored on a seized laptop. These were saved at different times.

According to the investigation, there are almost 100 child pornography files documenting the sexual abuse of under-14-year-olds. Particularly repulsive: some of the seized files document the abuse of small children.
A further 50 or so files would relate to youth pornography content documenting abuse of victims who were older than 14 but not yet 18 at the time of the crime. If convicted, the son of a castle actor and a stage actress could face up to three years in prison or a fine.
