Fans celebrate star DJ
After shock photo: Gigi D’Agostino is smiling again!
In January, Gigi D'Agostino shocked his fans with a worrying message and a photo showing him emaciated with a walking frame. Now the star DJ can smile again.
He was "fighting a serious illness" that had "aggressively affected" him, Gigi D'Agostino told his fans at the beginning of the year. In a Facebook post, the star DJ, whose songs such as "The Riddle" became global hits, appeared frail, emaciated and leaning on a walking frame.
"I hope this new year brings me some peace and strength," wrote the 54-year-old Italian. D'Agostino did not tell his fans what he was suffering from.
Gigi D'Agostino reports back with a smile
But it seems that the Turin-born DJ's fans can now breathe a sigh of relief. After around ten months, D'Agostino has now celebrated his social media comeback. He posted a photo on Facebook showing him with a smile on his face while the sun sets over a lake in the background.
D'Agostino did not comment on the photo, but it has caused a storm of enthusiasm among his fans.
"How are you, maestro?", "Happy to see you again with a smile", or "Hello, dear Gigi, you don't know how happy I am to see you like this ... I'm literally crying with joy", are just some of the joyful comments that can be found under the post.
Gigi D'Agostino became world famous in the 90s
Gigi D'Agostino, whose real name is Luigino Celestino Di Agostino, became world-famous back in 1999 with "Bla Bla Bla" and "The Riddle", and in the 2000s he was probably the most successful DJ in Europe.
But his success didn't stop in his younger years either, with the single "In My Mind" from 2018 selling more than 4.1 million copies worldwide and going double platinum in Austria. His last single "Hollywood" also achieved platinum status in this country.
