A sensational criminal case has been keeping police in the Mühlviertel region busy since Saturday morning. During the night, unknown persons broke into three restaurants and two valley stations in the Hochficht ski area and made a lot of money. An important part of their coup was a snowmobile.

The Hochficht ski resort in the Mühlviertel region stands out thanks to its special location in the border triangle between Upper Austria, Bavaria and the Czech Republic. 20 kilometers of skiing on three slopes attract skiers from all three nations.
Unfortunately, uninvited criminal guests visited the popular winter sports resort on Saturday night.

Looting on skids
The series of break-ins began at the Schwarzenberg valley station, where the unknown perpetrators forced their way in through windows and doors. The premises were searched for loot. From there, they took a Ski-Doo up the slope to the mountain, where the "Zwieseltreff" restaurant was broken into.

Afterwards, the snowmobile probably continued down the slope on the other side of the mountain to the "Gasthaus zum Überleben" hut, which was also broken into and looted. Another restaurant ("Fichtl") and the adjacent valley station were also not spared by the perpetrators.

Safes broken into
Safes were also cracked or ripped open at the crime scenes and cash and cigarettes were stolen. In any case, the loot is considerable and is said to amount to more than 70,000 euros. The amount of property damage caused by the unknown perpetrators is still unclear.

The search for the unknown perpetrators is in full swing and they are believed to have been familiar with the area. An important part of their coup was a stolen Ski-Doo.

Unfortunately, there are still no concrete leads on the suspects. The investigation is ongoing. The Ulrichsberg police inspectorate is asking witnesses who may have noticed anything suspicious to call +43 59133 4261-100 with any relevant information.
