A bang and fire in an apartment in an apartment building in Bad Vöslau (Lower Austria): The fire department discovered three dead men - apparently shot. The background is mysterious.

Three men are dead. They died in an apartment in a block of apartments in Bad Vöslau (Lower Austria). All three had gunshot wounds. What happened on the premises is still a mystery. Only one thing is clear: on Saturday afternoon, a loud bang shook the town, smoke billowed out of an apartment and the fire department arrived.

Three dead men in the apartment
The firefighters made a gruesome discovery shortly afterwards. Three dead men were lying in the burning apartment, one of whom was believed to be the tenant. The identities of the other two victims are not yet known. They are said to be middle-aged men.

According to "Krone" information, a revolver and a long gun were seized - one of the trio is said to have shot the two "friends", then set fire to at least four places and then killed himself. The investigation by the Lower Austrian State Office of Criminal Investigation is in full swing. There are said to be "traces of fire on the balcony and inside".

Residents: "I am shocked"
During the "Krone" local inspection of the crime scene, it was difficult to find people who wanted to talk about what had happened. One passer-by said that "it was always quiet here and nothing ever happened. And now this. I'm shocked."

Mrs. Elfi (66) - who lives just a stone's throw away from the murdered apartment - adds: "Only one man lived in this apartment." She doesn't know who. They didn't know each other, never spoke to each other, even though they lived practically next door to each other. The apartments were certainly not cheap. A horrendous down payment, 1000 euros net rent per month (excluding operating costs).

In the early evening hours, the officers from the crime scene team began their work. "It's going step by step, room by room," says head investigator Stefan Pfandler from the Lower Austrian State Criminal Police Office. "Then we try to reconstruct what might have happened." Autopsies of the deceased have also been ordered.
