Shots fired in Millennium City: argument between men

As previously reported, there was an argument between several men in the area of the Handelskai S-Bahn station on Sunday evening. A 19-year-old is said to have threatened two Syrian men (23, 28) with a knife.

The argument between the opponents escalated when they threw stones at each other. The situation then moved to the entrance of the shopping center, where the 28-year-old is said to have attacked the 19-year-old with a pepper spray. The 19-year-old then fled into Millennium City.

Several passers-by called the police because of what had happened and said they had also heard shots. The police officers were able to stop the three men. The 19-year-old and the 28-year-old received emergency medical treatment from the Vienna Emergency Medical Services. The 28-year-old had to be taken to hospital.

Knife seized
The 19-year-old was provisionally arrested, but was later - like the other two - released. The knife with which he is said to have threatened the two men was seized. The pepper spray that the 28-year-old is said to have used could not be found.

No firearms on site
No firearms or alarm guns were found at the scene either. The witnesses who claimed to have heard shots could not be located either.
