The artist Alexander Schneller had just finished his performance at the children's carnival party at the A-Danceclub in Millennium City late on Sunday afternoon when he witnessed the incident. He described his experience to the "Krone" newspaper.

"I had just gone up one floor to the food court to get something to eat. After ordering, I had to wait a bit. Just as I got the food, a mass panic broke out," the 36-year-old describes.

People rushed to the exit
Suddenly, women were screaming and men were shouting to passers-by: "Run!" The people then stormed towards the exit, the fast food restaurant employees even jumped over the counter and fled. "Rumors immediately spread that someone had a gun and that someone else was bleeding," recalls the shocked Viennese.

Just get away quickly
The entire food court was suddenly empty. "I quickly made my way to the parking garage and saw that the doors to the club were already locked."

It was immediately apparent that something must have happened. "When I drove out of the parking garage, I felt quite uneasy. We didn't know anything more specific at the time. I just wanted to get away quickly," says Schneller. Shortly afterwards, the police and ambulance arrived.
