Demo march on the street
Climate activists block Innsbruck’s Südring
Last Generation activists demonstrated on Innsbruck's Südring late on Monday afternoon, causing a lot of traffic jams. The peaceful demonstration ended after around two hours.
The police reported around 40 to 60 participants who gathered on the Südring shortly after 4 pm on Monday and formed an unannounced demonstration procession on the road in the direction of the Olympic Bridge. The march stopped between Fritz-Konzert-Straße and the Grassmayr junction and developed into a sit-in blockade. According to the police, the action again caused traffic jams in the city, but these were kept within reasonable limits, so that it was not necessary to break up the assembly.
As there was no reason to break up the assembly, the participants sat on the road until 6 pm.

Protest for listening to Klimarat
The activists, who also claimed to have been joined by "members of civil society" and a brass band, called on the government to listen to the Climate Council and implement the 93 measures it drew up two years ago.
According to the police, the demonstration went off without incident and ended after around two hours. Two people, who according to the police were the rally leaders, were reported to the administrative authorities.
