Deep mourning in the small village of Meislingeramt, which belongs to Senftenberg in the district of Krems: A hunter is believed to have been killed by his own weapon.

A walker discovered a lifeless body below a high stand on Tuesday. The witness immediately alerted both the police and the rescue services via the emergency number.

Criminologists reconstructed that the victim had probably accidentally put his finger on the trigger while descending or ascending - the rifle was probably unsecured.

The emergency services were quickly at the scene of the tragic incident. However, all attempts at resuscitation by the emergency services at the lonely spot in the forest, no matter how courageous, were in vain. The hunter, who was hunting wild boar, had previously said goodbye to his wife with the words that it would probably be later. A perhaps cryptic premonition. Because the 56-year-old passionate huntsman was called out of life by a tragic accident.
