Does he have to go to court?
Brutal call from 14-year-old: “Destroy Graz”
"Destroy Graz" was the call made by a Syrian (14) on TikTok last year. It will soon be clear whether he will have to stand trial.
Now he is behind bars, the 16-year-old from Bruck an der Mur who planned a terrorist attack on the NMS Bruck an der Mur with his friend (15).
In October last year, another boy in Styria also caused a terror alert: via TikTok, a 14-year-old Syrian living in Graz since 2015 called for Graz to be destroyed. Among other things, the video showed three images with pro-Palestinian content in a continuous loop.
14-year-old is at large
The video caused such a stir that the young man was soon identified by the police. During his interrogation, however, he denied the crime and claimed that his friend had used his account. According to the police, however, the friend had an alibi.
The 14-year-old was subsequently charged and is currently at large. The Graz public prosecutor's office knows what will happen to him. However, they have informed the senior public prosecutor's office of their plans and are waiting to hear back from them, as prosecution spokesperson Hansjörg Bacher explained in response to an inquiry from "Steirerkrone". It should therefore soon become clear whether the accused will be charged or whether the investigation against him will be dropped.
