Demanding compensation
Epstein victims sue US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
In the USA, twelve alleged victims of the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have filed a lawsuit against the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). They accuse the FBI of failing to investigate sufficiently and of ignoring Epstein's interest in underage girls.
The twelve plaintiffs are anonymized in the court documents. "For more than two decades, the Federal Bureau of Investigation enabled Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking and sexual abuse of numerous children and young women by failing to do the job the American people expected of him," the lawsuit states. It was filed in a New York court and is intended to "clarify the FBI's role in Epstein's sex trafficking ring once and for all."
Clinton and Trump appear in documents
The plaintiffs are demanding compensation, which is not specified. Just last month, court documents were released in which the identities of 150 to 180 people were named who are said to have had links to Epstein and his former mistress Ghislaine Maxwell (see video above). Among them are former US presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. However, they are not accused of any misconduct in this context.
Epstein was a powerful investor with connections to high-ranking personalities in the USA and abroad. The US judiciary accused him of raping young women and girls, but he died in 2019 and was never brought before a court. He was last in a prison in New York.
Clues not followed up?
The new lawsuit is based on information that the US Federal Police repeatedly received reports, complaints and tips about sexual offenses and human rights violations by Epstein and his accomplices between 1996 and 2006. However, they did not investigate them sufficiently. For example, the Palm Beach police informed the FBI in 2005 that a 14-year-old girl had been brought to Epstein's property for sex. The investigation was opened a year later.
