There are three cases of hit-and-runs to report from Tyrol's ski slopes. On Thursday, a stranger drove off after a collision with a nine-year-old girl. On Friday, two women collided. While one of them was injured, the second simply skied on. On Friday, a 79-year-old fell because of a hooligan.

The first case occurred on Thursday around midday on the Stubai Glacier. A nine-year-old German girl was skiing with her family on the blue piste no. 3 "Gamsgarten" in the direction of the Dresdner Hütte at around 12.40 pm. In the lower third of the piste, the girl wanted to slow down to wait for her family members.

A skier suddenly crashed into her back from the left. They both fell. "The second skier then helped her up from the slope and waited with her at the edge of the slope for her family members," said the police. However, when they arrived on the scene, he continued without giving his details.

The girl was treated by the piste rescue team and an Alpine police officer and taken to the "Gamsgarten" rescue area. "A medical examination was not required for the time being," concluded the police.

Police are looking for the man
The skier is said to be a man between 40 and 50 years old. He spoke with an Austrian accent and was wearing a green ski jacket.

Second hit-and-run accident
There was a similar serious collision at the St. Jakob ski center in Defereggen Valley on Friday morning. An 18-year-old German skier collided with an unknown female skier on red piste no. 1. The German skier suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital in Lienz. The second woman, however, left the scene of the accident without looking after the injured woman or leaving her details.

The police are now looking for witnesses or the skier. She had dark hair and was wearing white ski pants. There was also a child and a man with her. The latter had fabric horns glued to his helmet.

Any useful information should be sent to the Lienz police station on 059133/7230

Youthful hooligan with yellow-green jacket
On Thursday at around 10.50 a.m., a 79-year-old Austrian was skiing downhill from the Nösslachjoch mountain station in the Bergeralm ski area in Steinach am Brenner. Around 1.50 meters below the mountain station, a previously unknown skier rammed into him from behind, causing him to fall and seriously injure himself. The person who caused the accident left the scene without looking after the injured man. The unknown skier was a young male. He was wearing a yellow-green jacket.

The Steinach-Wipptal police inspectorate is asking for any useful information to find out who caused the accident (Tel. No.: 059 133 7125).
