Ski came loose and injured girl on the edge of the piste
A four-year-old girl was resting with her father on the edge of the piste in Carinthia and was suddenly hit on the back by a ski binding hurtling through the air!
In the snowpark at Nassfeld on Wednesday afternoon, a 14-year-old Czech boy jumped over a so-called kicker, but lost his balance and fell. The skis and bindings came loose on impact and hurtled through the air.
Hit on the back
A four-year-old girl from the Czech Republic was sitting on the edge of the slope with her father, having a bit of a freak-out. Suddenly, the girl was hit in the back by the binding and the end of the ski and injured. The skier who fell and the little girl had no physical contact during the unusual accident.
The piste rescue team rescued the girl and the ARA3 emergency helicopter team flew her to ELKI in Klagenfurt.
Hit and run after skiing accident
Early Wednesday afternoon, a young female skier and a 61-year-old man from the Leibnitz district collided on the Gamskogel piste in the Aineck-Katschberg ski area. Both fell, the man was injured in the upper arm. He asked the young skier to call the rescue service and leave her details.
The lift attendant alerted the piste rescuers, the skier did not give her details and continued skiing.
Helicopter also took a skier to hospital in East Tyrol
A Slovenian skier (48) crashed over largely snow-free terrain while skiing in the Hochpustertal area in Sillian. He crashed into a tree. The injured man was flown to hospital.
