Dozens of cases
For debt collection company it is now: Zupf di
The dubious business model of the collection company "Zupf di" has now been stopped by a court. Many "Krone" readers were also affected.
If you are looking for a parking space and unintentionally park in a private parking lot or even just turn around, you can get into trouble. In the worst case, it can even be really expensive (we reported).
Namely, if you receive an action for trespassing from the company "Zupf di". This company specializes in sending a hefty bill to parking offenders within a few days. This has also caused anger and incomprehension among many "Krone" readers. But this is now over for the time being. A law firm has filed a lawsuit against the questionable business model. According to the Supreme Court's decision, the company is no longer authorized to continue with the business model. Namely issuing warnings and collecting money - in the name of third parties. Despite the interim injunction, the Supreme Court has also taken a position on the content and rejected the company's approach. The headquarters of "Zupf di" have already been relocated to London (United Kingdom).
Stefan Saverschel, Managing Director of "Zupf di", commented: "We will analyze the decision of the Supreme Court in detail internally over the next few days and discuss the next steps with our lawyer." According to Saverschel in a written statement to "Krone", the Supreme Court's decision is merely a temporary injunction and no decision has yet been made on the matter itself.
The ÖAMTC has also received a pile of complaints. Dozens of complaints have been received from the dubious company. The motorists' club gives the following tip: If letters are still arriving or are still open - do not pay prematurely and always seek legal advice!
