Attack on police officers
Crazy pursuit: German could not be stopped
A traffic stop in Klagenfurt escalated completely. It is completely unclear why the driver snapped so much that he tried to run down police officers several times.
When a patrol from the Villach highway police wanted to stop a white van on Pischeldorfer Straße in Klagenfurt due to reckless driving, the officers certainly did not know what means the driver would use to escape the police. Initially, the driver of the van evaded the police, ignored several signs to stop and continued his escape at high speed and with a "particularly reckless driving style", according to the police.
Driver left a trail of destruction
When the driver found himself in a cul-de-sac in Mühlgasse because a steel cage was blocking the road, the officers asked the man to switch off the engine and open the vehicle. He also ignored these instructions. "Instead, he repeatedly pressed the accelerator pedal and suddenly drove the van backwards, ramming into the civilian vehicle of the highway police with full force, damaging the front of the vehicle," said a police officer. But that's not all: the four police officers had to jump to the side to avoid being injured themselves.
What does the law say?
Anyone who assaults an officer during an official act(Section 269 (3)) is liable to a custodial sentence of up to two years.
(2)Section 269 (4) applies accordingly.
After ramming the civilian vehicle, he shifted into forward gear again and accelerated. "As a result, he rammed into the attached steel cage, which was pushed aside by the force of the impact and he managed to escape via Mühlgasse in the direction of Grete-Bittner-Straße!" But that was not the most dangerous situation in this unusual manhunt.
Suddenly he drove towards the officer without braking!

Police officer saved himself by jumping to the side
Because when an officer from the riot squad tried to stop the van on a cycle path, it made no attempt to slow down! "Suddenly it drove towards the officer without braking!" said a police officer, describing the dicey situation. The police officer was only able to save himself by jumping onto the grass - the aggressive driver sped off eastwards along Feschnigstraße. At this point, the officers lost track of him.
The tide turned when the completely demolished van was found by a police patrol in Karl-Friedrich-Gauß-Straße - but there was no trace of the driver. "In the course of the investigation, the alleged driver of the van was identified." It was allegedly a 27-year-old German man who lives in Klagenfurt. The man was found at his address; he was arrested by the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG). Fortunately, a cinematic chase ended at 11.30 p.m. without any injuries. The German was found to be moderately intoxicated ...
