"Krone" at the crime scene
Murder in erotic studio: “Extremely violent”
The triple murder in a Viennese erotic studio in the 20th district was a veritable bloodbath. As the "Krone" found out during an inspection of the premises, the victims were attacked with "extremely violent force". The alleged perpetrator is now being questioned by the police.
The women who had worked in the Asia Studio were massacred with countless stab wounds. It was clear to the emergency services as soon as they entered the crime scene that any medical help for the victims would come too late. The crime took place on several premises - the bodies were found in different rooms, said police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger.
Identities of the victims still unclear
As the "Krone" learned during a site inspection, the crime scene team is still working on securing evidence. The fact that the victims were brutally attacked is also shown by the fact that their identities have still not been established. Investigations are ongoing in this regard, according to the police.
The 27-year-old, who is currently considered an urgent suspect, is now in police custody. He had been arrested under a bridge near the scene of the crime, but had behaved extremely aggressively during his arrest. The officers had to put him out of action with a Taser. According to information from the "Krone" newspaper, the man is an Afghan asylum seeker.
No witnesses to the bloody deed
According to the current state of the investigation, there are no witnesses to the bloody deed. The police are now trying to obtain information from the suspect about the motive and course of events.
Eva-Maria Holzleitner, Chairwoman of the SPÖ Women's Party, reacted to the recent femicides with an appeal to the federal government - on Friday, four women who were killed by violence and a girl who was also killed by violence were found by the police in Vienna in a single day.
Holzleitner called for a crisis meeting and a National Action Plan for the Protection against Violence: "We mourn the murdered women, our thoughts are with the bereaved and we call for a National Action Plan for the Protection against Violence to finally be implemented in order to protect women's lives in Austria." One in three women in Austria is affected by violence, the number of restraining orders is increasing every year and the number of femicides is the highest in Europe: "There is an urgent need for action."
