Dead and injured in Russian airstrikes
Russian airstrikes hit Ukraine again on Monday night. At least two people were killed as a result.
"Two people died as a result of an airstrike - a couple who were at home," the administration of the Sumy region in northern Ukraine announced on Telegram on Monday morning. Guided aerial bombs were dropped during the attack. The central Ukrainian industrial region of Dnipropetrovsk reported four people injured by drone fire.
Two men aged between 41 and 49, a 20-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman were admitted to hospital, according to military governor Serhij Lysak. The blasts damaged ten private homes and several vehicles in the regional capital of Dnipro. In the region, the city of Nikopol was also hit with drones, artillery and multiple rocket launchers of the Grad type. Nikopol is located on the Dnipro River and is a frequent target of Russian attacks - on the opposite bank, Russian troops are occupying the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, among other things.
Grain silos also hit
According to military governor Oleh Synyehubov, the village of Pisochyn in the Kharkiv region in north-eastern Ukraine was hit with converted S-300 anti-aircraft missiles. Two grain silos and agricultural equipment were hit. Other villages were damaged by drones and aerial bombs.
According to the Ukrainian air defense, the country was attacked during the night with Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, anti-radar missiles, cruise missiles and drones. Nine of the 14 drones and all three Ch-59 cruise missiles were intercepted, it was reported.
