Men wanted to lure primary school pupils into a minibus

There is a lot of excitement among parents in Böheimkirchen in the district of St. Pölten. Three men are said to have approached several pupils at once in order to lure them into a white van. The police responded to the incidents with an increased presence. The all-clear has now been given.

After school on Tuesday afternoon, several pupils from the elementary school in Kasten near Böheimkirchen went to the nearest bus stop. A white van is said to have stopped in the immediate vicinity. According to the children, there were three darkly dressed men inside. At least one of them was wearing a cap, another had curly hair and a checked shirt.

One of these strangers is said to have approached the boys and girls and asked them if they wanted chocolate or other sweets. The primary school pupils were also told that their school bus was an hour late, but that they would like to take them home.

"Take incidents very seriously"
However, according to the police, the children reacted in an exemplary manner and refused the "offer". The van then drove off in an unknown direction. At least two mothers reported the incident a short time later. The officers contacted the school management. "We take incidents like this very seriously and will step up our patrols at schools," said the local police.
