Vienna General Hospital and MedUni Vienna among the 25 best hospitals
Vienna General Hospital and its university hospitals run jointly with MedUni Vienna have been ranked 25th in the ranking of the 250 best hospitals in the world, published by data provider Statista. The AKH has moved up five places. According to MedUni, 2400 hospitals from 30 countries were evaluated for the ranking.
The Mayo Clinic in Rochester (USA), the Cleveland Clinic (USA) and the Toronto General - University Health Network (Canada) top the list of the best hospitals in the world.
Innsbruck and Graz also among the top 100
The best hospital from Europe is Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Germany) in sixth place. In addition to the University Hospital AKH Vienna (25), the Innsbruck University Hospitals (53) and the University Hospital Graz (73) also made it into the top 100 from Austria.

The evaluation of the individual clinics was based on an online survey of more than 85,000 medical experts from 30 countries, the results of which were combined with the results of existing patient surveys and country-specific medical quality indicators, for example on treatment quality and patient safety.
About the Vienna University Hospitals
The 29 university hospitals run jointly by Vienna General Hospital and MedUni Vienna, with over 400 specialized outpatient clinics, treat 60,000 inpatients every year; according to MedUni, care is closely linked to research and teaching. The outpatient clinics and special outpatient clinics are also visited around 1.1 million times.
The third pillar of the hospital ranking was standardized, validated questionnaires, which are completed by patients to measure their own perception of their well-being and quality of life.
