ESC song will be a hit!
Kaleen: “I’m the rave queen and I’m going to rave”
On Thursday, Kaleen presented her ESC hit "We Will Rave" for the first time in Vienna. How the song, which is supposed to lead us to victory at the 68th Song Contest, will sound, will only be revealed after the official premiere tomorrow, Friday. However, the 29-year-old let it slip: she wants to rock Malmö with her song!
"I'm going there for Austria and want to make Austria proud," explained Kaleen on Thursday at the launch of her ESC hit "We Will Rave", which will be broadcast on krone.at from 7.40 am on Friday. The singer, who appeared in front of the press in a sexy leather dress with a long leg slit, is definitely convinced that she has a good chance.
"I'm the rave queen"
After all, she has not only had a taste of the stage since she was a child, but has also performed at the ESC in the past - including as a stand-in lead artist during rehearsals. "I have the advantage of knowing the world of the stage well," she said confidently.
She definitely wants to rock the Song Contest, which takes place in Malmö in May, with her song. "I'm not normally the party girl", laughed Kaleen - and added in reference to her song title: "But now I'm the rave queen and she's going to rock out." A promise that the 29-year-old keeps, not least with a hot video featuring lots of bare skin.
Party, party, party
Party, party, party - that seems to be the motto of this year's red-white-red ESC entry. Bass beats, a radio-friendly techno attitude and a dancefloor sweeper that is usually stylistically more at home in European music cultures such as Greece, the Balkans or Poland - this is the package Austria is going for this year.
"It's definitely a song that you can listen to more than once," says Kaleen herself, impressed by her number. According to Kaleen, who sees Celine Dion as her favorite artist at the ESC, she only discovered her love for "We Will Rave" at second glance.
Kaleen competes with Fischer
"There will be an extreme dance performance - there has never been anything like it from Austria before," said ORF program director Stefanie, whetting the appetite for the Song Congest. And she was amazed: "This is high-performance sport. Apart from Kaleen, only Helene Fischer can do that."
In the second semi-final
Kaleen will be competing in the second semi-final, which will take place on Thursday, May 9, for a place in the final on May 11. Austria will have to prevail against Greece, the Netherlands and Denmark, among others.
