Driver fled into the forest after vehicle check
A routine vehicle and driver check turned into a wild chase in Sölden on Thursday evening. The driver initially claimed to have no documents with him. A short time later, he fled into a forest. The police were finally able to stop him and were astonished when they checked him later.
Officers from the Sölden police station stopped a vehicle registered to a Dutchman shortly before 9 pm on Thursday evening. However, the vehicle and driver check turned out to be a difficult case. The previously unknown driver stated that he had no documents with him. However, further checks confirmed the suspicion that the driver might be under the influence of narcotics.
During the subsequent personal search, the driver's identity card was found and it turned out that the driver was a 31-year-old Englishman.

Escape into the forest
When the police officers stated that the man's identity needed to be clarified, he suddenly fled and ran into a wooded area. With the help of a second police patrol, the fugitive was finally caught and arrested.
"During the subsequent personal search, the identity card was found and it turned out that the driver was a 31-year-old Englishman," said the investigators. The man is also not in possession of a driving license. This has already been revoked by the Imst district authority.
Fugitive also injured
To make matters worse, the 31-year-old's escape also came to a rude end, as he was seriously injured in the process. He was taken to Zams Hospital for medical treatment. He will be charged at large.
