Derby against Tottenham
Glasner: “Boys, we all have to stay grounded”
Preparation for the London derby against Tottenham began for the Innviertel native Oliver Glasner at the helm of Crystal Palace just a few minutes after the 3-0 win over Burnley FC. He makes it clear: "No matter what happens, we will train on Sunday!"
As the catacombs of the "Crystal Palace" were still shaking in the middle of the "Victory jubilation" over the 3:0 victory against Burnley FC, he played the party crasher a little in the Crystal Palace dressing room by slowing down his "boys": "Boys, we all have to stay grounded now, please, after all we want to win at Tottenham next Saturday too." Typical Oliver Glasner!
Just like the fact that, despite the first "big haul of points" after three lean rounds with just one point, he then gave the "Eagles" a Sunday off. Under Glasner's predecessor Roy Hodgson, the Londoners had always had Sundays off even after defeats. However, the Austrian started a regeneration training session the day after his super premiere in the Premier League.
Family stays in the Innviertel
Although the 49-year-old later admitted to his four red-white-red assistants: "When that was over on Sunday, all the tension and burden of the first week fell away from us and we all felt our tiredness from the very, very intense first few days."
I don't want a house, I want an apartment, because my family is staying in the Innviertel.

But Glasner himself had no time to rest. The search for a place to stay began on Monday: "I don't want a house, I want an apartment, because my family is staying in the Innviertel and usually only come to the games"
Sensation against Tottenham?
But that's not the case today, even though Crystal Palace are playing in London again. But still away. Namely in the north-east of the metropolis. At the Hotspurs Stadium. Which cost over a billion euros, but is not new territory for Glasner. In October 2022, he lost 3:2 there with Frankfurt in the Champions League despite taking a 1:0 lead after conceding three goals within 16 minutes - giving Glasner an idea of what awaits his 13th-placed team today.
And yet, ahead of the derby at the fifth-placed club, he tried to instil the belief in his team, which is still severely weakened by injuries: "We can win there too!" But only one thing is certain: even if there is a sensation, Crystal Palace will train tomorrow Sunday!
