Ex-ÖVP members with new lists

Until last year, they were the leaders of their local party, but they were dissatisfied. The founders of their own groups in Großgmain and Henndorf quickly found supporters.

Ingrid Scheucher-Neumüller left the ÖVP when, at the end of last year, it was not her but her party colleague Martin Panzer who became the candidate for mayor of Großgmain. On March 10, the businesswoman will be running with her own party as an alternative to her former party.

"Die Parteifreien Großgmain Liste Ingrid Scheucher" already consists of 29 people. Among other things, they want a second crosswalk over the main road in Hinterreit. "There's a 50-metre crossing there, but almost no one obeys it," explains the former ÖVP party leader from Großgmain. Another goal is to better adapt childcare to parents' working hours.

In Henndorf, former ÖVP municipal party chairman Günther Schackmann and former ÖVP municipal councillor Eva Holzleitner have turned their backs on their party. At the end of 2023, they jointly founded the "Team for Henndorf" list, which now consists of 13 people. They criticize that there is too little life in the village and that the municipality should be much more involved here. Günther Schackmann wants to change the communication: "We want a change of style. You have to involve people more in larger projects." The list has already held three "citizens' dialogs".
