Cooperation with HTL
Rally ace goes full throttle with students
The Lower Austrian motor sportsman Luca Pröglhöf is intensifying his cooperation with "his" HTL Mödling. The young technicians can now even accompany the rally ace abroad.
"When I was at school, we could only dream of this," says Luca Pröglhöf. The 24-year-old from Sittendorf in the district of Mödling would have loved to have had the kind of intensive practical insights back then that he now gives to those students who - like him back then - attend the HTL in Mödling. The local rally ace has been working closely with Europe's largest school since last year.
Also in Germany, France, ...
Under the motto "from the classroom to the service park", motorsport enthusiasts from the automotive engineering department aged 16 to 18 can gain valuable experience in motorsport competitions. This year, this cooperation is even going international. "We are taking part in eight rally races not only in Austria, but also in Germany, the Czech Republic, France and the Netherlands," Pröglhöf tells the Krone.
From May to October, two of the budding vehicle technicians will be able to work in the Sittendorf service team. The young people receive the best possible preparation in advance. "At the event itself, they can either test their organizational or technical skills in practice," says the motorsport enthusiast. Afterwards, there will be a joint exchange of experiences. "The students' interest is enormous," says Pröglhöf happily.
HTL department head Michael Hanzmann in turn plans for the participants to pass on their impressions to the first and second years.
