Bayern candidate on board
Owner furious! Chelsea plan summer ‘sell-out’
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has big plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. But this time it's not about spending millions more on new players. Instead, the 50-year-old wants to sell players he is disappointed with. According to the report, the end of seven players has already been decided and others are on the test bench.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Lewis Hall, Marc Cucurella, Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah, Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher have fallen out of favor with the Chelsea owner. They are said to have no future at Stamford Bridge.
Chalobah is another player who has been the subject of much interest from Bayern's management. The English defender has only made one appearance for the Londoners this season following a persistent thigh injury.
Cucurella has not played an important role for coach Mauricio Pochettino this season. Gallagher has been on the pitch more often, but is said to be a controversial figure at the club. Maatsen has been loaned out to BVB and has failed to inspire Boehly there, as has Lukaku at AS Roma. Lewis Hall, currently at Fulham, should ideally stay with the league rivals.
70 million purchase under observation
Boehly has so far invested over a billion euros in player transfers. However, success has so far failed to materialize. The most recent defeat was against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final. They are in eleventh place in the Premier League and therefore outside the international places. The Chelsea owner is said to be losing patience and is furious about the current developments.
The Londoners are therefore putting everything to the test. If they miss out on the European places, more players are set to leave the club. These include Thiago Silva, Noni Madueke, Reece James and 70-million purchase Mykhailo Mudryk.
