Horner not invited to Verstappen party
On Monday, Jos Verstappen, the father of Formula 1 superstar Max Verstappen, celebrated his 52nd birthday in Dubai. But one prominent name was missing: Christian Horner, the Red Bull team boss, was not invited.
After Max Verstappen's triumph in Bahrain on Saturday, there was another reason to celebrate on Monday: father Jos celebrated his 52nd birthday in a luxury hotel in Dubai. As reported by Bild, there was a dinner in honor of the former Formula 1 driver. Red Bull's head of motorsport Helmut Marko was also present. Unlike Christian Horner, the Red Bull team boss did not receive an invitation. Even though the Briton was also in Dubai.
Difficult relationship?
However, the turmoil surrounding Horner, who is alleged to have behaved inappropriately towards a female employee, has recently caused a lot of unrest around the Formula 1 team. According to Jos Verstappen, Red Bull Racing is on the verge of exploding, as he said in an interview. It is not entirely clear whether the ex-Formula 1 driver harbors a deep-seated dislike of Horner.
The portal "Motorsport-Total.com" wrote that he never got over the fact that Horner wanted to prevent Max from joining Red Bull Racing in spring 2016. Ultimately, it was thanks to Marko that Verstappen was promoted from Toro Rosso to the A-Team in the middle of the season and won his first race at Red Bull in Barcelona.
