Arrest in Bad Ischl

Thieving asylum seeker (23) bit two sales clerks

In a clothing store in Bad Ischl, a young Syrian from Vienna was noticed by employees trying to leave the store with stolen goods. When they tried to prevent him from fleeing with the loot, he became violent. He injured two sales clerks, biting their forearms. 

An attempt to prevent a thief from escaping until the police arrived ended painfully for two employees of a store in Bad Ischl. The 23-year-old Syrian from Vienna had stolen clothing and sporting goods and had been caught. 

When sales clerks confronted him with his crime, the young man became aggressive. He lashed out and tried to make off with the loot. However, the employees finally managed to detain him until the police arrived. In the process, two of them were bitten on the forearm.

Police officers took the raging asylum seeker into temporary custody. After consultation with the public prosecutor's office, he was taken to Wels prison. The young man refused to make any statement about the thefts for the time being.
