Roma transit site
Traveling people do not drive
The transit area on the B 1 in Pichling continues to be a hive of activity. As of this week, the landowner, Linz AG, has now also closed the barbecue area, which has always been used as an unauthorized parking space for mobile homes. And yet the traveling public no longer wants to drive.
The transit area on the B 1 in Pichling is not coming to rest, even though it is actually still closed for the winter.
But - as reported - this time a group of people known to be aggressive and very demanding appeared at the area earlier than ever before this year - on January 13th. And it seems that these Roma and Sinti, who do not accept the winter closure, have come to stay. While the transients used to stay at the site next to Lake Pichling for a maximum of three weeks, the current group has mutated into permanent campers.
Regional companies as clients?
Why? Looking at the "Krone" site, one can only speculate when looking at the area, which is already heavily littered in places: The number of already known blue poison canisters is increasing almost daily, it is possible that the façade cleaning business is doing well. Insiders suspect that clients could be companies from the region. This would also explain why countless cars, which are often used by people passing through during the day, have LL license plates. In order to park them, the people, who mainly come from France and Belgium, simply drove over the wooden parking barrier at the side of the road.
Linz AG has "fenced off" the barbecue area with concrete barriers
The new boundary around the neighboring barbecue area is made of concrete. This was arranged by the landowner, Linz AG, in consultation with the municipal authorities. Not only because the area had recently been repeatedly parked over by the ethnic groups, but also because some barbecuers had made the area inaccessible to like-minded people with their vehicles. In addition to the concrete barriers, a loading zone with a parking ban is to be imposed in front of the barbecue area in time for the start of the barbecue season.
