The white-green industry is currently on the ropes. Now they want to benefit from the spirit of optimism on the subcontinent. Some companies are already operating successfully in the world's most populous country.

"Welcome to the best country in the world." The welcome greeting at Bengaluru airport is not necessarily a sign of understatement - after all, arrivals are welcomed to the "best country in the world". A statement that can at least be debated. After all, this huge country is still characterized by poverty, 220 million people on the subcontinent have to get by on two US dollars a day and, as a Central European, a glance out of the bus window on the way to the hotel quickly makes you feel quite privileged - and yet there is an atmosphere of economic optimism in the most populous country.
