New scandal! Balotelli sets off firecrackers in the dressing room
Mario Balotelli is once again living up to his name as a scandalous professional. The Italian, who is currently playing for Adana Demispor in Turkey, set off a firework - in the middle of the dressing room.
A video is circulating online showing Balotelli sitting on a bench with his shirt off. He is holding a firework in his hand, which he lights and throws towards the floor of the dressing room. His teammates and coaches flinch in shock. A delicate action! And Balotelli? He laughs with relish.
Not his first scandal
This is fitting for Balotelli, who has repeatedly made negative headlines off the pitch during his career (he has played for Inter Milan, Manchester City and AC Milan, among others). In December, he crashed a luxury car, for which his driver's license was revoked. During his time in Manchester, he collected around 11,000 euros in parking tickets. His car is said to have been towed away 27 times.
The 33-year-old became internationally famous for his iconic celebration in the 2012 European Championship semi-final against Germany, when he ripped off his shirt after scoring and tensed his muscular upper body with a scowl on his face.
