Let's go
Circular hike in Uderns over the Kupfnerberg
Spring has put a damper on things. But the excursion to the Kupfnerberg in the Zillertal is definitely worth it. And there are also two great, rustic places to stop for refreshments.
Between the parish church and the cemetery, we walk west along the access path (always "Seehüter", "Oberhaus"). The route virtually leads through the (demarcated) golf course, keeping to the right at the first farm. Immediately afterwards, follow the chapel and cross the Finsingbach stream twice. Directly in front of us to the north, the pilgrimage church of St. Pankraz comes into view.
Two places to stop for refreshments
Now an access road leads up into the valley, at the electricity pylon you can take a marked, short shortcut on the right (only recommended in dry weather - otherwise stay on the road). The asphalt access road winds its way up into the meadows and then between farms. After a good hour's walk, you reach the Oberhaus snack station. Here, or at the Seehüter snack station (846 m) a few minutes further into the valley and a little higher up, you can enjoy a cozy break.

After the Seehüter, the route remains the same and continues to climb slightly. Soon you change to a forest path that runs downhill ("Uderns via Platzlstall"). This descends over long straights and hairpin bends to the valley floor. There we walk along the edge of the forest on the footpath outwards and at the Plunggen Chapel turn right back into Uderns. The golf course dominates the scenery in this area.
Finally, we return to the parish church, which is clearly visible from afar. The entire hiking route should be free of snow.
