Sex parties in Russia
Lawsuit fails: Trump must pay 700,000 euros
Former US President Donald Trump must pay hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal fees because his civil action against a British consultancy firm has failed. This was decided by a judge at London's High Court. This is estimated to be around 700,000 euros.
Trump must pay 300,000 British pounds in advance, with the exact amount to be determined by a specialist judge. Trump had sued the consulting firm Orbis Business Intelligence, which was founded by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. The background to this was a dossier about the politician from 2016 that was made public.
Participation in sex orgies in Russia
The so-called Steele dossier cites, among other things, reports that the Russian secret service has footage of Trump's alleged participation in sex orgies in Russia and is holding it as leverage. This includes an alleged incident in a hotel in Moscow in 2013 in which prostitutes are said to have urinated on a bed in Trump's presence.
Trump had always denied having attended sex parties in Russia and sued the consulting firm (see video above). According to the 77-year-old, it unlawfully used private data and he demanded compensation for the damage to his image. However, a judge had already dismissed the lawsuit before the main hearing. Trump's team did not appeal against this.
Four criminal proceedings
Trump is currently facing four criminal proceedings, some of them for serious allegations. For example, he is on trial because he wanted to retroactively reverse the result of the 2020 presidential election. He is running for office again this year. Polls predict a close race between him and Democratic incumbent Joe Biden.
