Cancer, crisis, Kate:
Another stroke of fate for King Charles III.
The British King Charles can't stop worrying. While the 75-year-old has to come to terms with his cancer and his kingdom is in turmoil due to the wild speculation surrounding daughter-in-law Kate, the monarch now has to cope with another stroke of fate.
According to British media reports, his close friend of many years, Ian Farquhar, died on March 6 at the age of 78.
The former groom to the Queen Mother and father of Prince William's first girlfriend Rose Farquhar lived in a farmhouse on the royal estate of Highgrove in Gloucestershire.
Highgrove is considered to be the King's favorite place where he can devote himself to gardening.
"Very sad"
Farquhar was also close to Queen Camilla and her first husband, according to the reports. The King's wife is currently on a recuperation trip abroad after attending many of his appointments alone following Charles' cancer diagnosis and was probably exhausted.
Camilla's ex-husband, Brigadier General Andrew Parker Bowles, told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper that the situation was "very sad" and that Farquhar's health had not been good in the last few months of his life.
He described his friend, who was a keen hunter, as "wild as a hawk in his youth, but always very funny". Parker Bowles added that "The Captain", as Farquhar was known, "will be judged by history as one of the great masters of hunting dogs".
At the beginning of February, it was announced that King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer. The cancer was found early on when the monarch underwent prostate surgery. However, it was not prostate cancer, it was announced.
Doctors have advised Charles not to attend any public appointments during his cancer treatment - but he continues to conduct state business. Time and again, he appears in photos at meetings with high-ranking politicians or reading recovery cards.
Nude photos of Harry, concern for Kate
As often as possible, he retreats to his country estate in Sandringham to recover after treatment.
When his diagnosis was announced, his younger son Prince Harry flew in from the USA for a day to visit him briefly in London. As pleased as he may have been about the brief meeting, Charles is once again likely to be upset by the latest news about his son.
A US stripper wants to publish nude photos of the prince, which were taken during a debauched party night in Las Vegas during his boorish years, on the erotic portal "OnlyFans".
Of course, the King is also worried about his "beloved" daughter-in-law Kate, who is undergoing a month-long recovery process following a serious abdominal operation in mid-January.
The long period of her absence and the secrecy surrounding her diagnosis has led to wild speculation about her state of health and therefore the future of the monarchy. The absence of two senior members of the royal family leaves the impression that the royal family is very weakened.
King Charles III has been the British monarch for more than a year, following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022 at the age of 96. She had been Queen for 70 years.
