Vienna Film Commission
Gold award for Stoisits on 15th anniversary
A golden jubilee worthy of a film: After the great successes with Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and other Hollywood stars, Managing Director Marijana Stoisic was honored by Mayor Michael Ludwig at the 15th anniversary celebration of the Vienna Film Commission.
The Vienna Film Commission and its President Marijana Stoisits are currently the talk of the town. In a recent interview with "Krone", she explained how she manages to attract superstars such as Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Cruise to the city. Conclusion: without hard work (and without funding) there is no prize and no success.
This was also the reason why Mayor Michael Ludwig presented Stoisits with the state's Golden Medal of Merit at the Wien Museum on the occasion of the commission's 15th anniversary and honored her for her tireless efforts.
He told us that he watches the films that are shot in the city: "Yes, the nice thing about the productions is that you immediately try to understand where it took place. That's easier when the main actor is abseiling down at the State Opera. It's puzzling when filming takes place in alleyways and, as the Mayor of Vienna, you have to work out where the set took place."
