Tradition and crafts: Easter market in Klagenfurt

The Easter market on Neuer Platz in Klagenfurt is open with a mix of tradition, crafts and culinary delights. Easter eggs and bunnies are back in season. There is also the popular selfie point and the 23-meter Easter nest until 8 April.

The official opening of the beautiful Easter market in the state capital was celebrated on Thursday. The beautiful market spreads a pre-Easter atmosphere and the market stallholders offer everything you need for Easter.

• Thursday, 30.3.: 10 a.m.: Palm bush tying at Neuer Platz
• 11.30 am: Palm blessing on Neuer Platz
• Sunday, 2.4.: 10 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.: Palm blessing on Cathedral Square
• 2 p.m.: Palm donkey procession at Neuer Platz
• 4 pm: Passion concert in the cathedral church
• Thursday, 6.4.: 12 noon: Lenten soup supper at Neuer Platz
• Friday, 7.4.: 2.50 pm: Meditative harp music at the hour of Jesus' death in the cathedral church
• 3 p.m.: Stations of the Cross for children at Keuzbergl
• Saturday, 8.4.: 9 am: Blessing of food at the Benedictine market
• 8 pm: Celebration of the resurrection in the cathedral church
• Sunday, 9.4.: 10 am: Great festive mass
• Opening hours: The Easter market is open from March 23 to April 8, 2023 - daily from 9 am to 7 pm; on Holy Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.

For the second time, the students of the horticulture department of the Ehrental Education Center have designed the New Square. A wonderful sea of flowers awaits visitors right next to the town hall.

Around the Lindwurm, there is a colorful range of traditional and modern arts and crafts, Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, decorative bunnies and other confectionery. The Easter bunny family is once again particularly cute and the largest Easter nest in the world, measuring 500 square meters, and the popular selfie point round off the program.
