Sound & generosity
Standing ovations on the gala concert evening
A top-class musical evening full of variety, sound and generosity at the Carinthian Military Music's grand gala concert!
The grand gala concert of the Carinthian Military Band can be described as a win-win situation: The 55 soldiers (including 6 women) under the direction of conductor Colonel Dietmar Pranter captivated the audience with rousing marches as well as modern works. At the same time, they did some good. The net proceeds from the evening will go to the "Krone readers help" association, which is currently collecting donations for two tragic deaths.
The fact that rhythmic pieces such as "Conga" didn't leave a single leg still, and that the singing of the well-known singer Sandra Pires and the mixed choir Jakob Petelin Gallus didn't leave a single eye dry, speaks for itself. So it's no wonder that numerous well-known personalities accepted the invitation to the concert hall.
In addition to political faces, such as the two deputy governors Gaby Schaunig and Martin Gruber, the president of the provincial parliament Reinhart Rohr and FP leader Erwin Angerer, were also seen: Georg Tazoll from the Red Cross, Rudolf Schober from the Civil Defense Association, retired priest Remo Longin as well as military commander Brigadier Philipp Eder and his predecessor Brigadier Walter Gitschthaler.
The tragic case of the young farmer (29) who died suddenly is a wake-up call. Every euro is needed for a new start. No amount of money in the world can replace Sabrina F.'s father for her partner and two small children. But with the donations from the "Krone" reader family, we can at least ease the financial burden and perhaps also make the new start easier in the difficult time ahead on the farm. "We miss him so terribly. But it has to go on somehow," says Sabrina.
Sudden cardiac death
The father of the family, Christoph, died of a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of just 29 during a long-awaited short vacation at a thermal spa in Styria. Sabrina barely keeps the family afloat with a part-time job. But: "The electricity alone costs 290 euros a month," says the young mother. The first donations from the "Krone" reader family have already been received and we will be transferring emergency aid on Monday - because the deceased's account has been blocked and there are more than just electricity bills to pay.

The wave of willingness to help the bereaved of the farmer, who was also involved and popular with the fire department, is spreading. Wörthersee-Schifffahrt also wants to dedicate the start of its season to the relief campaign. Managing Director Daniel Dörfler: "Christoph was an old schoolmate."
Financial hardship of the widow with three children can be alleviated
The sudden death of the helpful and popular Christian Poznic also prompted a veritable flood of donations from Krone readers. Three children aged 3, 7 and 10 have to cope with the incomprehensible. Their beloved dad (43) was suddenly torn from life from one day to the next. He died suddenly in hospital after suffering from the flu.
Friends and colleagues deeply shocked
Christian Poznic was popular, helpful, but above all a dad with heart and soul. The death of the long-time Red Cross employee and recipient of the Bronze Medal of Merit has also deeply shocked friends and colleagues. The young family was just settling down in mid-February when the accident happened. The father of the family had worked hard to build a house for his loved ones, even taking on two jobs and agreeing a higher loan installment.
"The children have made a memorial candle for their deceased father. We are all in shock. The house still has to be plastered and a fence has to be erected. My daughter-in-law works 20 hours a week so that she can be there for her children," said the mother-in-law.
Overwhelming willingness to help
It was therefore clear to the "Krone" that a donation account should be set up immediately with the reference "Papa Christian". The willingness of "Krone" readers to donate was overwhelming. A five-figure sum can now be transferred. At least the financial hardship can be alleviated. Thank you!
