No peace at the airline
Lufthansa flight attendants now want to strike
There is no peace at the Lufthansa airline: After the ground staff of the German AUA parent company ended their warning strike on Saturday, the flight attendants announced that they would stop work next week.
The cabin crew union Ufo has called around 19,000 flight attendants at Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cityline to strike on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ufo announced on Saturday evening that all departures from Frankfurt on Tuesday and all departures from Munich on Wednesday will be on strike from 4.00 am to 11.00 pm.
Staff want a share of the Group's record results
The union explained that the group had only announced a record result of almost 1.7 billion euros net profit on Thursday. This is said to be the third best in the Group's history. "The cabin crew must now also share in this success and the concessions made during the coronavirus crisis must be adequately compensated," said UFO CEO Vázquez Bürger.
Already several strikes in the group
Ufo is demanding 15 percent more money with a contract term of 18 months. They also want an inflation compensation bonus of 3,000 euros and higher bonuses. The Lufthansa Group is struggling with wage disputes in several areas: In addition to the ground staff, the employees of the cargo subsidiary Lufthansa Cargo also went on strike. There were also strikes at Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Aviation Training and Lufthansa Technical Training.
