We show the photo:
This is what John Cena was wearing behind the envelope!
Wrestler and actor John Cena had to attend the costume Oscar ceremony at this year's Academy Awards naked except for the winning envelope and Birkenstock sandals. But was he really completely naked? A photo reveals it!
It was one of the big gags at this year's Oscars. Wrestler John Cena came on stage naked in all his body glory, wearing only an envelope in front of his private parts and Birkenstock sandals.
His job was to award the Oscar for Best Costume Design to Holly Waddington for "Poor Things", of all things. Of course, a curtain with a cord was quickly brought in to provide a makeshift cover. As we all know, nudity is more than frowned upon on US television.
Skin-colored intimate protection
And backstage too, as it later turned out. Because Cena was of course wearing a "loincloth" behind the winner's envelope. In the Hollywood gimmick factory, nobody has to go on stage naked.
A photo shows Cena backstage with a skin-colored, baggy scarf covering his private parts at the back (unfortunately you can't see that in the photo) and front.
The back and front parts of the intimate protection were connected with transparent ribbons.
Homage to nude streakers
The performance was to commemorate one of the craziest moments in Oscar history, when a naked man ran onto the stage at the 46th Academy Awards in 1974 while David Niven introduced Elizabeth Taylor.
