Hundreds of seats
Large restaurant is revived after years
The Panoramarestaurant Rosenheim in southern Carinthia is finally being revived after years of standstill. A new tenant, who is no stranger to the gastronomy scene, will take over.
For years, the large Rosenheim panorama restaurant in the municipality of Sittersdorf stood empty. "We ran the business ourselves for 30 years, until 2014. It was then leased out for three years and has been empty ever since," says owner Horst Jernej. Now, however, new life is to be breathed into the beautiful property, which is located not far from Lake Turnersee.
Proven concept and down-to-earth cuisine
Siegfried Plausteiner, experienced restaurateur and operator of the Kirchenwirt restaurant in Klagenfurt, is taking over as the new tenant: "The concept will be the same as at the Kirchenwirt - except there won't be any pizza. We will be serving down-to-earth cuisine."
Jernej, who himself runs the popular Seerose restaurant on Lake Klopeiner See, is also positive about this plan. "Really good, affordable restaurants are becoming increasingly rare in Carinthia. But if the product and the concept are right, guests are prepared to go anywhere, even if the restaurant is a little more remote."
Despite years of standstill, the Rosenheim restaurant is in good shape. "Everything is there and ready for use. Only small things still need to be done. The kitchen is huge, the indoor area has 360 seats and there is also a large terrace," says Plausteiner, who plans to open the restaurant in Sittersdorf on April 15.
Employees wanted for various areas
Until then, the restaurateur is still looking for staff. He is looking for chefs, young cooks, kitchen assistants, dishwashers and service staff - both for year-round and seasonal employment. Send applications to: restaurant-rosenheim@gmx.at
