So close to heaven! The “Familypark” is expanding

In St. Margarethen in Burgenland, the final preparations are underway for a successful start to the season at the end of March. Visitors can once again look forward to a whole host of new 

If you don't have butterflies in your stomach but would like to experience that tingling sensation that is usually only reserved for lovers, you should pay a visit to the Familypark in St. Margarethen soon. In April, a new attraction will open in Austria's largest leisure and amusement park, which should provide a heavenly feeling of bliss for children and adults alike.

Once to heaven and back
"Azurgo" is the name of the new highlight. "It is a giant blue swing. Up to 16 brave adventurers can take off at the same time and swing up to a height of twelve meters. The feeling of weightlessness that our guests will experience is fantastic," enthuses Marketing Manager Lisa Wagner-Körmendi.

The new eye-catcher is another strategic move towards expansion. In the last financial year, the Familypark attracted 650,000 guests from Austria and abroad to Burgenland. This generated a turnover of 26 million euros. This is set to be topped this year.

Investing heavily
This is why the fairytale forest has also been redesigned. The old figures, which were only on loan to the park, were returned at the request of the former owners Mario and Ulrike Müller. In addition to three extra-large 3D figures up to four meters high, numerous other fairytale scenes have been reinterpreted.

The popular vintage car convoy has also been given a new look. In the form of the "Oak Convoy", it is experiencing a cool revival with new theming. "The investment budget for these three new features is around 1.9 million euros. We are currently in the final stages of preparation," says Wagner-Körmendi.

The oak convoy is very popular with the youngest visitors.

Greening measures
Numerous greening and infrastructure works were also carried out over the winter. For example, 600 oak seedlings were planted on the site, paving work was carried out, the catering kitchen at the Hafentaverne burger station was renovated and a new souvenir store was built.

Numerous events are also new. From March 30 to April 1, for example, visitors can look forward to an Easter hustle and bustle with stilt walkers, a craft station, a magician, an Easter competition and Filippo's guest of honor, the Easter bunny. In June, a two-day midsummer festival is planned with an event stage, live music and entertainment throughout the park, while summer parties are scheduled for four Saturdays in July and August.

Small price increases
However, the rise in prices can also be felt here. A day ticket at the ticket office costs 37 euros instead of the previous 34 euros. The price of an annual ticket, which can be purchased online, has risen by five euros compared to the previous year.
