"Modern weapons"
Putin believes Russia is prepared for nuclear war
Russian President Vladimir Putin believes his country is prepared for a nuclear war. From a military-technical point of view, Russia is prepared to use its highly developed weapons if the existence of the Russian state is threatened.
Russia's nuclear weapons are more modern than those of other countries. However, there had never been a need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
In August 2022, Putin said that there could be "no winners" in a nuclear war. Such a war should "never be unleashed". At the same time, the Kremlin leader assured that his country would not carry out a nuclear first strike.

Russia is, however, ready for talks on Ukraine - but only if these are based on "realities".
Putin: "Joining NATO is pointless"
In the interview, the Kremlin leader described Finland and Sweden joining NATO as pointless: "This is an absolutely pointless step (for Finland and Sweden) from the point of view of safeguarding their own national interests."
"We had no troops there (on the Finnish border), now they will be there. There were no destruction systems there, now they will be moved there."
Sweden and Finland are the last two countries to be admitted to NATO after long negotiations - and resistance from Hungary.
