Heribert Kasper celebrates 15 years of hotel living
Excessive luxury living? On the contrary! The "Krone" knows what Mr. Ferrari once "forced" Heribert Kasper into the hotel and who it would take to get him out again.
When Heribert Kasper entered his apartment on Wienerberg in 2009 after a charity event at which he had just shone alongside Jeannine Schiller, he shuddered. It had been broken into - the thieves had deliberately packed up items from the lover's large Ferrari collection and left a huge mess in their wake, as Kasper described it.
It was enough for him
"At first I thought, well, it just happened, you can stay there." But the next horror was soon to follow: After just a few weeks, he was burgled again - or at least an attempt was made!
"Whenever I came home, I basically checked to see if the coast was clear. Once I even triggered a major police operation after I imagined unusual noises in the neighboring surgery. And then a few weeks later I came back from an exhibition in Salzburg and I saw the broken window and all the blood. You can't believe the trauma you're left with." The culprits probably tried to get in through the window and injured themselves on the broken glass.

In any case, it wasn't Kasper himself who came up with the idea of the "long-term vacation": "So many media outlets reported on it at the time, even ORF. Then I got a call from the manager of a hotel near me. They had a room that they would also rent out long-term. I said that I couldn't afford it, I only had an expensive name," he laughed, "but they made me a very fair offer for a bit of advertising.
He soon got used to the comforts of his new home and the hotel staff have also become like family to him. "There are always great presents at Christmas, for all the staff really."
It has now been fifteen years and Mr. Ferrari is no longer thinking of moving out. For that to happen, someone very special would have to enter his life: "Well, if I met a lady again, fell in love again and she said 'Heribert, I don't want to live in the hotel with you there' or something, then of course I would look. But I hope that the next relationship will accept that.
