Pep? “As if we were sh**** on his shoe”

Pep Guardiola is clearly making few friends among British journalists. Richard Keys, main presenter on "beIN", fired all guns blazing against the Manchester City coach.

The background to this was the apparently monosyllabic answers that the Catalan gave one of his reporters after the 1:1 against Liverpool. "What's wrong with this guy? Guardiola was just rude to our reporter," Keys grumbled. "If I had been doing the interview, I would have cut it short and left." Guardiola looked at his colleague as if he was "a piece of sh**** on his shoe", the 66-year-old continued. "He had no desire to talk. He offered nothing - just one-word answers and a stupid smile."

Interview boycott
The Englishman is convinced that Guardiola only speaks to journalists because he is obliged to. "But the thing is, Senor Guardiola: we're all trying to do a job - just like you. Nobody deserves to be ridiculed by you while they're doing their job. I've suggested to my bosses that we should just ignore you until you get off your high horse and behave yourself." Rumms!

It's quite possible that Guardiola simply had a bad day and wasn't so happy with the result against Liverpool, but Richard Keys and Pep are unlikely to be best friends again ...
