Eva Pinkelnig jumps onto the podium in Trondheim!

Ski jumper Eva Pinkelnig finished on the podium for the twelfth time this season at the World Cup in Trondheim on Wednesday! 

The 35-year-old from Vorarlberg jumped to third place on the large hill at the 2025 World Cup venue, having finished second on the normal hill the day before. Pinkelnig was only beaten by Slovenia's Nika Prevc and Norwegian local hero Eirin Maria Kvandal.

Prevc, meanwhile, took a big step towards winning the overall World Cup. Three competitions before the end of the season, Prevc is now 194 points ahead of defending champion Pinkelnig, who missed out on victory by 3.4 points.

"But we still have some catching up to do!"
The red-white-red hopeful was jubilant about her double podium in Trondheim. "I'm happy, I like Trondheim. Everyone is really nice here and I'm really looking forward to the World Championships next year. But we still have some catching up to do if you compare it to the men," she said, laughing at the quadruple success of the ÖSV eagles. Pinkelnig spoke of an "unbelievable season", was looking forward to the "monster bakken" in Vikersund and was aiming for a 200-meter jump. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was the second-best Austrian in eleventh place.

In the Raw Air ranking, Kvandal, who had previously won the qualification by a wide margin, extended her lead over second-placed Pinkelnig to 53.5 points two competitions before the end. The ski jumpers will now head to the ski flying event in Vikersund at the weekend, where Lisa Eder and Sara Marita Kramer have also qualified alongside Pinkelnig and Seifriedsberger.
