The “Playboy” mansion was my childhood playground

The "Playboy" mansion was considered a sinful playground for the rich and famous with the beautiful. But for Jack Nicholson's daughter, Hugh Hefner's home, including the infamous pool grotto, was a real playground.

Lorraine Nicholson has now revealed in "Vanity Fair" magazine that she saw the estate as "a magical world" for the first eleven years of her life.

"I loved this place"
The now 33-year-old comes from the Hollywood legend's relationship with model Rebecca Broussard. After her birth in 1990, her nanny Cis - who also worked as an assistant for Hefner - regularly took her to the "Playboy" mansion: "I loved this place because my best friends were waiting for me there."

These were Marston, who was the same age, and his brother Cooper, who was a year younger and came from Hef's marriage to ex-Playmate Kimberly Conrad. Lorraine: "For me, the whole estate was what I imagined the Garden of Eden to be like - so many green spaces and trees. I especially loved the warm water in the hot tubs and the tunnels. There were times when we were there every day - but hardly ever until after dark."

"Large, unconventional family"
Not because things were happening around them that weren't suitable for teenagers, "but because it got boring for us". Lorraine celebrated almost every birthday and even holidays such as Thanksgiving at "Uncle Hef's" home, often together with her famous father: "We were like a big, unconventional family."

Lorraine Nicholson has fond memories of her childhood in the "Playboy" mansion.

As she grew older, Lorraine understood that the mansion wasn't really designed for children: "But I couldn't have been less curious about sex or sexuality back then. I never once looked at a 'Playboy' magazine, even though they were everywhere."

"Magic ruined"
She also never wondered why there were mirrors everywhere in the "playroom" but no furniture apart from mattresses. Or why every cupboard in the bathrooms was full of Vaseline and strange lotions.

However, she believes she knows why she never witnessed any sexual acts between the Bunnies and visitors: "We kids ruined the magic of the 'Playboy' Mansion for the adults with our presence. It was just like an adult running naked through Disneyland as a streaker."
