Macron emphasizes: “Must not be weak”

French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated his position in a live interview broadcast by several TV stations on Thursday evening: The deployment of Western ground troops in Ukraine was not ruled out. "All these options are possible."

"In order to achieve peace in Ukraine, we must not be weak," Macron continued. We must be prepared to use all necessary means "to achieve our goal of ensuring that Russia does not win the war". As Russia is not setting itself any limits in its war of aggression against Ukraine, the West should not impose any limits on its support for the country in advance, Macron continued.

At the same time, the 46-year-old emphasized that France would never go on the offensive because: "France is a force for peace." In the event of a Russian victory, however, the lives of the French would change. "We will no longer have security in Europe," said the President, painting a threatening backdrop that has been repeatedly brought into play by various NATO states since the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022.

Putin speaks of "nonsense"
In his recent speech to the nation, Russia's president rejected the idea that he also wanted to attack the West as "nonsense". Rather, the country would ramp up its armaments complex for its own security and further strengthen the western flank of the giant empire due to the threat posed by NATO expansion.
