Patent office revealed:
This is what Meghan wants to offer in her new online store
Duchess Meghan (42) is reportedly preparing another business model with her new Instagram page. She has founded a lifestyle brand, according to the Times newspaper and other British media.
A trademark with the name American Riviera Orchard has been registered with the US Patent Office, under which dishes, cookbooks and jam could be sold.
Authenticity confirmed
A profile of the same name was set up on Instagram, with the addition that it came from Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
A spokeswoman for the Duchess and her husband Prince Harry (39) confirmed on Friday night that the Instagram page and the associated website were genuine.
Homage to her home
It is believed that Meghan is alluding to her home in the Santa Barbara area of California, known as the "American Riviera", with the name of her company.
Orchard" refers to an orchard, which in turn explains the jam in the product portfolio.
"American Riviera"
For over a century, Santa Barbara has affectionately enjoyed the title of "American Riviera", and for good reason. The city's mild climate, lush landscapes and thriving food and wine culture give it a unique appeal.
Renowned American cookbook author Julia Child was so enamored with Santa Barbara that she compared it to the South of France and decided to spend the last years of her life here.
Married to Harry since 2018
Meghan is married to the younger son of the British King Charles III.
The couple broke away from their royal duties several years ago and now live in the USA with their two children. The relationship with the royals is considered to be broken.
Contracts worth millions
The couple have since signed several contracts worth millions in order to stand on their own two feet financially.
These included a deal with the streaming service Netflix and a contract with the publishing house Penguin Books, which published Harry's autobiography "Reserve".
Early lifestyle blog operation
Meghan became famous as an actress in the series "Suits" and used to have a lifestyle blog called "The Tig".
The new Instagram page, which has now been published, showed blurry video footage of a woman resembling Meghan stirring in a bowl and standing at the end of an aisle in a dress.
