Royal pitch
“Cinderella” prince at “2 minutes 2 million”
It may be Easter and not Christmas, but the movie "Three Nuts for Cinderella" is still a hot topic. Czech actor Pavel Trávníček, who once played Cinderella's prince, wants to inspire the investors of "2 Minuten 2 Millionen" with a new product on Tuesday.
Together with Wolfgang Mueller, a German living in Salzburg whose ancestors come from Mirschowitz in the Czech Republic, he is promoting the Czech national dish Svickova in the form of a ready meal.
Mueller is convinced that there must be a market, especially in Vienna, for the fillet of beef in a creamy sauce, served with Bohemian dumplings and cranberries.
An old recipe
After all, many people from the Czech Republic or with Czech ancestors live here. "We are finally bringing what is probably the best, as yet unknown dish to Austria for a large number of Austrians with or without Czech roots," he told krone.at.
Of course, for every Czech, the svickova of their own "babicka" is the best. In any case, his recipe comes from his great-grandmother, is at least 100 years old and has been "cooked, enjoyed and loved for at least six generations."
"Svickova"
"Svickova" is a traditional Czech dish consisting of marinated beef fillet served in a creamy sauce.
The dish is one of the best-known and most popular specialties of Czech cuisine.
In his family, the dish contains neither root vegetables nor red wine, but sour cream, vinegar, juniper berries and bay leaves.
Will the two "princes" also be able to make it palatable to investors?
It will be exciting! Because the investors are critical of the business case: "The competition is never-ending. Building a brand with 200,000 euros is an illusion that I don't think can last," says Heinrich Prokop. Christian Jäger is quick to add: "The only thing I can do is buy it and eat it."
"2 Minuten 2 Millionen - Die PULS 4 Start-Up-Show" can be seen on JOYN and PULS 4 on Tuesday at 20:15.
Icon of Czech film
Pavel Trávníček is an icon of Czech film and theater. His breakthrough came in 1973 with the role of the prince in the fairytale film "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella", alongside Libuše Šafránková.
This role catapulted him into the hearts of millions of viewers and established him as one of the leading actors of his generation.
Trávníček continued his successful career with further fairy tale films, including "Snow White and Rose Red" (1979) and "The Third Prince" (1982).
In addition to his work in film, Trávníček has also gained a foothold in theater. In 1997, he founded the Skelet Theater in Prague, where he works both as an artistic director and actor.
