Driver left the road and crashed into trees
Bad accident on Saturday evening in Kössen (Kitzbühel district)! The driver of a pick-up skidded on the wet road and left the road. He crashed into several trees. He and one passenger were injured. The road remained closed for two hours.
The 36-year-old local man was driving his vehicle on Klobensteiner Straße with four other people at around 9 pm. On a right-hand bend, he skidded on the rain-soaked road and then left the road.
The vehicle then collided with several trees on a steep embankment before coming to a standstill on the passenger side after around 20 meters. All occupants were able to free themselves from the car.
The men were able to extinguish the fire themselves using a fire extinguisher they had brought with them and made an emergency call.

Shortly after the five people had left the vehicle, they discovered that petrol had leaked and ignited. A canister was on the loading area of the vehicle. "The men were able to extinguish the fire themselves using a fire extinguisher they had with them and made an emergency call," the police said. The 36-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger were slightly injured. All other occupants were uninjured. The vehicle sustained considerable damage.
Due to the dense woodland and the steep embankment, it was difficult to recover the vehicle. For this reason, the road had to be closed to all traffic for around two hours. The Kössen fire department, the Kössen mountain rescue team, the ambulance service, an emergency doctor and the police were deployed.
