Sipped from a ball
Feller: “I trained my whole life for this party”
"I've been training for this party all my life," grinned crystal globe winner Manuel Feller after yesterday's slalom in Saalbach. And in the evening, the Tyrolean shared his room party with his fans in an Instagram story.
Second place in the last, actually insignificant race of the season was important to Feller: "I wanted to show that I am rightly the best slalom racer in the world." He was four tenths short of his fifth win of the season, which was snatched away from him by Norwegian Timon Haugan.
No matter what! The joy of the slalom World Cup prevails. "If you don't celebrate something like this, then when?" Feller announced. The whole family, including his almost 80-year-old grandmother and dozens of friends and acquaintances had made the journey to Glemmtal. Thanks to a striking headband in reggae colors, the members of the Feller entourage were recognizable from afar.
Crystal ball as a cocktail
In the evening, Feller posted an Instagram story of the celebrations. On the balcony, he sips with a huge straw from his small crystal ball, which had been transformed into a cocktail without further ado.
New look
Beforehand, Feller parted with his hair at the hotel. The father's mane was trimmed down to just a few millimetres. "It's a very private story that we celebrate at a small internal ceremony in our physios' hotel room. I already did it four and a half years ago when I donated my hair for a human hair wig. My physio had the same plan, he has pretty much the same length as me. So we said we could do it together."
Feller then really let it rip with his new look. You can grant him that ...
