Bella Italia in Vienna:
Becoming European pizza baking champion with plenty of “Amore”
A coveted title in the world of pizza baking was recently won in Vienna, more precisely in the city on the Danube: Antonio Arino, 38 years old and a member of the kitchen team at the renowned pizzeria "Mio", can now call himself European Pizza Baking Champion.
Pizzeria "Mio" has its gastronomic roots in Naples, the birthplace of pizza. "Having a newly crowned European champion among our pizza bakers fills us with pride," says Jakob Baran, owner of Pizzeria "Mio".
Passion and hard work
Antonio Arino's path to mastery began at the age of 18, when he attended hotel management school. After five years of intensive study, he completed his training as a chef. In the years that followed, he gained extensive experience, including as a pizza chef. His quest for perfection led him to the Alma International Cooking School, one of the most important cooking schools in the world, where he obtained a further diploma specializing in modern bread baking. According to Antonio, you also need a lot of passion for this profession.
All ingredients come from Italy
Pizzeria "Mio" relies on the highest quality ingredients, which come directly from Italy. Over 10 tons of Flor di Latte cheese are used every year. Only Italians work in the kitchen. They all come from Naples. Even the pizza is baked in a typical Neapolitan oven.
